I agree it doesn't make sense that they took him into custody unless there's something there that's not in the report. But besides that, again thugs wanting something someone else has worked hard for. They just never learn.

This might have something to do with it:

“It happened inside the home, and it looks as though the suspects may have gone out the front window to try and flee from the shooting,” Woody said.

Definitely short on detail as to why the home owner was taken into custody. One could speculate that he continued to fire after the male and female dirt bags exited the house. Even if that were the case he would get at least one not guilty vote if I were on his jury.

If this was truly a righteous self-defense shooting then hopefully justice will prevail and the homeowner will not be charged.

    From the article:
“It happened inside the home, and it looks as though the suspects may have gone out the front window to try and flee from the shooting,” Woody said.
How much you want to bet the home owner fired shots after they went out the window. Only reason I can see for him to be in custody.

That's it! that's why he was taken into custody! Oh wait, probably not. But I agree... a lot left to be desired in today's reportage. It's all about who's first with the story... even if it isn't a story yet... just an event with no details fleshed out...

Many home invasions here are dug-related, as in invaders trying to rip off a dealer, resulting in the arrest of the invaders and owner alike. The custody may have nothing to do with the actual shooting. The lack of media details leaves the question open.

If they were already fleeing and outside the house the homeowner is probably toast.

    IMO rightfully so.

You don't shoot people who are not threatening you with death or severe bodily harm no matter what they have stolen from you.

If you are going to shoot someone because thet stole your TV or jewelry or other material possesions you have the wrong mindset.

If they come after you or your loved ones that a whole different story.

There are those who believe the AR 15 is a god HD weapon. Maybe so. A rifle was the weapon in this case, we don't know what form.

That said, we also don't know that they fled after being shot, before being shot, or while being shot. In the heat of battle, it may be difficult to see what the actors are actually doing. Especially in the morning before sunrise.

But, this is what the article said:

“It happened inside the home, and it looks as though the suspects may have gone out the front window to try and flee from the shooting,”
It happened inside. They tried to flee the shooting which was happening inside. Probably not a bad shoot... time will tell.

Even if it happened inside and it is proven they were fleeing the scene (wounds in the back) the homeowner is still going to be in trouble.

If they had already fled the residence through the window or a door and the homeowner shot them outside the house as they were running away then he has a serious problem.
