Attempted Robbery in Oklahoma City Pawn Shop backfires

Clerks open fire on would-be robbers

OKLAHOMA CITY Three teenagers who are accused of trying to rob an Oklahoma City pawn shop at gunpoint were met with gunfire instead and two are wounded.
Police say 17-year-old Robert Pennington and 16-year-old Kentrell Smith were shot by two clerks inside Joe's Pawn and Bargain Center in northeast Oklahoma City.

Both were arrested at a local hospital where they were being treated for gunshot wounds while 17-year-old Garrick Thomas was arrested at a separate location.

Police say the three walked into the pawn shop last night and one held a gun to a clerk's head while another began smashing display cases.

Investigators say a second clerk shot one of the robbers in the should and arm and a third clerk shot at another robber who was hit in the head by bullet fragments. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

All three teens are being held for robbery with a firearm.

    Thumbs down

It's time to treat these teenaged punks like adults. When they use guns prosecute them to the full extent of the law and then some.

    Teens again - sheesh.

Indeed - age must not count - punish to full extent of the law. Geez - I feel my blood pressure rising.

well they think that they can get away with whatever with just a slap on the wrist and get a clean record when they turn 18.......there seriously needs to be some fixing along that lines......commit a violent crime, even as young at 7 you should do time like an adult AND the offense should stay on their record. That MIGHT, and i do say might, get their attention when they have to spend their entire adolesent life in a cell. Maybe then they would appreciate what they HAD.

The trouble with giveing kids who commit violent crimes a clean slate or sealing their records is that hides the fact that they are prone to violence.

All in all a good outcome, but it could have been better.

The death penalty has a place. These little goblins are on the edge of that place. I predict none of them will live very long.

Good for the clerks. I'm glad the one with the gun at his head didn't get shot too. I'll watch that vid later tonight.

good for the clerks! couldn't find the vid though . then i saw that idiots are still using the old 'hot coffee in the cashiers face' thing and got even more annoyed. no one in their right mind can ever blame the places that use bullet resistant glass (plexi) in their establishments anymore, especially pawn shops.

These Thugs Don't Even Rate High Enough...

    to be called 'scumbags'...

I hope these punks get long sentences and learn to listen to BaBa when he announces..."Grab you ankles, sweetie!"

The only bad part of the robbery is that these guys are still roaming the earth and wasting our oxygen...

Someday I'll share my real feeings on this matter...

    Stay armed...stay safe!

I've always been torn between having the BG gone and stop wasting air, or doing their time in prison feeling death is too easy a punishment. damn those catch 22's.
