Seems like it was a fairly minor wound, the kid's very lucky. Grandpa could very easily have sent him to his grave. If the kid's got enough brain cell left to figure that out, this _might_ be the best thing that's ever happened to him.
I don't have any grandchildren, but the oldest of my 4 daughters is 19, so odds are it won't be long. I don't know how I would have handled it. I guess I'd just have to consider that I was, in fact, in fear for my life, and did the only reasonable thing I could have done.
Liberty is an inherently offensive lifestyle. Living in a free society guarantees that each one of us will see our most cherished principles and beliefs questioned and in some cases mocked. It's worth it.

Its a shame things like this happen. Some times its got nothing to do with the kids upbringing. I feel bad for the grandfather. Thank God that the gun shot was not fatal. Mabe the grandson will get the hint and change his way of life
