I would add that this shows that although an attacker may eventually die from his one gunshot wound, what is stated in the book "NRA Guide to Personal Defense Outside the Home" (and probably in their Inside the home book, which I don't have) is that despite what the media and movies portray, people are generally NOT utterly immolized or neutralized after being shot with a handgun bullet. The book makes very clear that you should keep firing until the threat ceases to be a threat, and to NOT believe that one shot is going to keep the person from being able to do you harm.
Here is a criminal who decided to try to run away and expired during the process. He could easily have used that energy to continue fighting with, and possibly shooting, the homeowner.
Shoot more than once if you really want to guarantee your safety. That seems to be the conclusion to arrive at.
Nothing lower than a scumbag who tries to take advantage of a 79 year old senior citizen. I'll cry a tear for the loser..., the day when green one-eyed monkeys fly out my butt.
awesome outcome. don't mean to judge or stereotype but but i can't think of too many at 79 that could wrestle with a BG and hold his own. Bravo!
This scumbag should have been in prison for 20 years as a repeat offender. So much for the Ohio "criminal justice system."
Glad that the old man was able to kill the perp.
