Looks like the neighbors are learning from example

"Do you own a gun, and if not, do you want one now?" we asked her.

"Yes. I would love to have a gun," she said. "I'm telling you, you're not safe anymore."

If true, it's yet another example of a little viper who's going to do some adult time in prison. May he find it more invigorating than his classes at school. And may he learn something, this time.

Don't break into homes with deadly weapons. Don't attack others. Don't expect other people will just roll over and die as you do such things.

"I think that I'm glad he's still living, but maybe it'll make him not do some of the things he's done," Patrick Haynie said.
In contrast to the other story where the cousin wonders why the victim who shot the suspect is not arrested, this one sounds rather intelligent.

Glad the victim is OK. Sorry the thug had to be shot to learn the lesson. He survived, hopefully he figures it out.

This young thug got excatly what he 'earned'.

Breaking into his neighbor's home with a knife at 3 A.M.? Just what are the values that this kid has?

I'm sure that his new school will be giving him a lot of 'back-up' support with his studies!

    Stay armed...stay safe!

The ballistic path of a bullet is a tough learning curve for a Bad Guy.
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

"Brent Haynie is still recovering from that gunshot. He faces several charges, including burglary, aggravated assault, kidnapping and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime."

Another fine example of what happens to vermin who take knives to gun fights.

Most people learn the hard way. Just so long as they learn, that's fine. But it would be so much simpler if citizens would simply go on the assumption based on the evidence of the past 30yrs: taking what you've got by force is the point of the exercise; choose to be prepared or not. It would also be one of the first indications of intelligence in a long while, instead of the head-in-sand approach that's so common. Neighbors everywhere would have a much easier time of it.

Brilliant, break into your neighbor's house. Sounds like Natural Selection was trying to do its thing, but Theresa either didn't use enough gun or shot placement was off.
