A somewhat success story, first-hand

OK, I'll elaborate (slightly). Someone called for help, I answered the call. It was a similar situation to what rfurt encountered, except the result was much more permanent. The "victim" then proceeded to try and sue me, her attacker's family did sue, by the time it was over, I was financially and emotionally wiped out.

I hate to say it rfurt, but I'm willing to bet that the woman in your case, if she's not already, wil be screwing the miscreant again real soon. Trust me, it's not worth the bother. Stick to protecting you and yours.

By the way, nice Peacekeeper. Always wanted one.

Thx ebd - sorry your pain was so great - most unwarranted I'll bet and uncalled for. I can only imagine but - in a sense feel your pain. The question ''where is fairness'' comes to mind.

Sad really we should have to think about avoidance ''in case''.

Well, 1 positive as a result of that experience; I became a frothing at the mouth pro Second Amendment advocate. I joined the NRA and later, when they got soft, GOA. Now I work with a local grassroots organization here in Oregon www.oregonfirearms.org If they want mine, they'll have to fight for it. :boxp:

And that my friends is the edge of the slippery slope we teter on when making decisions about helping others. What if you did absolutely nothing, only to find out that he stabbed her to death on the street corner! That would have provided for more than a few restless nights sleep I think.

I'm still paying some of the price for the incident with some filter-down, but I don't regret my decision.

I knew civil suit was a possibility, but thank god for lousy credit and this being Idaho. :)
