Armed robber killed in Las Vegas by store clerk.

Just happened over the weekend. This is becoming a "trend" in Las Vegas. My hope is that it brings favorable light on gun owners here.

Some valley store owners say they are tired of being victimized and now they're fighting back. For the third time in a month, a store clerk shot an armed robber. The suspect in this recent case was killed.
    The story is here.

It was all good until this:

Police say as a general rule, the safer option is to give an armed assailant what they want because nothing is more valuable than your life.
    How typical. :(

    And the best part is...

North Las Vegas Police say, at this point, no charges will be filed against the store clerk in Sunday's shooting. Investigators say it appears the clerk feared for his life and was acting in self defense when he shot and killed the armed suspect.

This clerk shot three guys in a month! Where the heck does he work? The Baghdad Kwik-E-Mart?
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Yeah, they probably worded that poorly. This is the third self-defense shooting at a business in the past month. Only one was this particular clerk. :)

So wait, two other clerks are armed at the job too? Thats awsome. I would think though...nobody would want to be a clerk at that business anymore.

The rest, well, they're not quite tired of being victimized yet, I guess.

I hate to say this but, as a Vegas resident myself, this serves as a great example for people in our town to follow. BG's walk in and say, gimmie money or die, and the clerks here are saying not me, not now, not today. Makes me more confident in myself even to know that I carry, shoot and train, and am mentally prepared to deal with a life threatening situation. God bless you guys and we gotta keep fighting back!

One would think it FACT that victims of an armed robber are, by definition, concerned for their very lives. Amazing that it even needs to be questioned. Anyone not duly concerned with a gun in his/her face and threats being made is alread dead to the world.

Kudos to the folks for choosing survival.

This statement is a case study in contradiction.
