I think the thing to take away here might be that success, from a self defense perspective, is not (was not) necessarily measured in kills. It could be that it's measured, as far I can tell, in the threat was eliminated. He wanted them to stop what they were doing and he appears to have achieved that. He's still alive, and he's in possession of everything today that he was yesterday. Granted, if they had both died, that would have satisified my criteria also, but likely involved even more drama for the guy than this is. Just a thought.

    44 Special

One thing we could all hope for is that maybe "He was such a good boy Damien" will get a real nasty staff infection and need some amputation work done!!! Would be a fitting ending to this story.

Whoa, I've fired my Dr's hubbies Model 29... even the empty pistol itself could be used to smack the snot of of someone... that's a real fist full of steel!

The man connected with two out of five rounds and the threat went away. Pretty good shooting, i say.

I liked the story better when it was a .44 magnum, I had envisioned a S&W model 29. I'm glad the story had a happy ending and I hope the epilogue includes jail time.
