    Another Good Guy Wins

Intruders shot in Brunswick home invasion

    By
    By MATT GALNOR The Times-Union

One apparent robber was killed and another critically injured after they were shot in a Brunswick home invasion early this morning.

The two men kicked in the front door of the home at 601 Wolfe St., where about a dozen people were hanging out around 1:30 a.m. Monday, Sgt. Kevin Jones said.

Witnesses said the two men both drew their guns, but one of the men at the house pulled out his handgun and started firing, Jones said. One of the intruders was shot in the side and pronounced dead at the home. The other was shot in the abdomen and was taken to Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center.

Police did not release any names but said the hospitalized man is 18 years old. Jones said he was in critical condition as of Monday morning, but the hospital could not provide any further update.

The people in the south Brunswick home were in their late teens and 20s, Jones said. The man who shot the suspects does not live at the house and is not expected to be criminally charged in the shootings, Jones said.

According to Georgia law, if a person is in fear of great bodily harm or death, that person can use deadly force in self-defense.

Sounds like a fellow CCW'er was at a friends house when the BG's decided to bust in. Good luck for the home owners, bad luck for the BG's.

I don't wish to sound blood thristy, but this is what needs to happen to all home inturders. When they start to equate breaking in with death maybe they will have second thoughts about the deed. Do the deed, end up dead.

    Another one bites the dust,
    Another one bites the dust.
    And another one's gone,
    And another one's gone,

    Hey Hey!!

2 idiots kick in a door to a house that has 12 people inside. That makes sense to me. The pool is getting cleaner every day.
A person is justified in the use of deadly force, if such person reasonably believes deadly force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to such person or a third person.

This guy deserves a Key to the City. Residents in that town are safer today because of his actions.

Could be that or it could be one set of drug dealers trying to rob another set of drug dealers. One of the worst places to get facts is from a newspaper or radio or TV news program.

More Info on this one: The local Brunswick newspaper stated that the BG's were herding the people into the kitchen as they arrived and when the CCW citizen showed up he received the same reception. The BG's were making everyone remove their shoes and empty their pockets. When they told the good guy to do the same he told them "you don't know who you're robbing do you?" then pulled a .45 from under his shirt inside his waistband, fired twice at nearest BG fatally wounding him and once at the other BG who was found on the front porch by the responding officers. By the way, the occupants of the house were students.

Not blood thirsty or brutal at all since I agree it must be the conclusion of a reasonable man

I wonder why the hero spoke to the BG, challenging him? If I were to say anything in that situation, it would be something nonconfrontational like "I'll cooperate with whatever you say" to maybe get him to drop his guard and focus on someone else, then draw and fire. To challenge him like that just makes him focus on you, maybe pistol whipping you into unconciousnous, but at the very least taking away some of your element of surprise.
