What's worse than taking a knife to a gunfight? How about taking a fake gun to a gun fight!
"A man who robbed a South Richmond Baskin-Robbins ice-cream store with a fake gun Thursday night was shot to death by the store's gun-wielding manager."

I'm sure a lot of cops would disagree with you about knives in gunfights.
Fun story nonetheless, though, but an ice cream store?

Another one bites the dust.
And another one's gone,

Been out of the slammer 9 months for previous conviction for burglary. Hammerhead brought a BB gun to a gun fight. At least when they found the carcass, there was no World Class Chocolate ice cream going to waste next to it. Gene pool is a little cleaner now.
A person is justified in the use of deadly force, if such person reasonably believes deadly force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to such person or a third person.

love the stories with a happy ending, keep em comin
War is not the ugliest of things. Worse is the decayed state of moral feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which he cares for more than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free. -J.S. Mill

Mr. Davis was pretty dumb on this particular (final) occasion.
Of course, people who make careers of street crime aren't often nominated for Nobel Prizes, Rhodes Scholarships or membership in Mensa.
