JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman confronted by two home invasion suspects in Westside apartment on Wednesday morning wrestled a gun away from one of them and shot him, police said.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's office, two suspects posing as maintenance men entered the woman's apartment in the 4400 block of Confederate Park Road.
When one of the men pulled a gun, the woman struggled with him.
"The victim of the robbery got control of the suspect's weapon," Det. Mike Pagett said.
Police said the women fired more than one shot and hit of the suspects as he ran through the parking lot.
The man was rushed to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center in serious condition. His name has not been released.
The second man jumped a fence and got away.
The woman was not hurt.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

He is going to have a hard time in prison. "Yea the lady I was trying to rob, overpowered me, got my gun and shot me."
He is going to be somebodies ********.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

I don't think this is what the Antis intended when they said, "they'll just take it away from you and use it against you."

I might have missed it, but I didn't see this story in the local paper (Times-Union). I'm sure it would have made the front page if the situation had been reversed.

Good on her! Hope it works out OK for her.
-They gained entry to her apartment where she wrestled the gun away. Then she fires multiple shots as he fled through the parking lot.-
I hope the DA in Jax is not an anti gun zealot.

They ought to let her keep the gun. She obviously shoots well with it to hit a moving target.

That prob just a generic quote the paramedics use when questioned, in reality they stoped for starbucks and to pick up this months copy of Guns & Ammo before realizing they had to drop this scum bag off.
Just wishfull thinking.
