Probably their first encounter w/ BG, don't blame them. I would have reloaded and at least do a lethal weapon where Mel Gibson reloads like 2 times and keeps shooting at the helicoptor....remember that one? "HEY MO!!"

    Exclamation

Anyone else concerned about the volume of fire at an apartment complex? Something stopped those rounds....they just don't know what. It's fortunate the GG's bullets didn't strike an innocent bystander or the story about the virtues of CCW would have been different.

Even in a stressful situation, you have to place aimed shots and know what's behind your target.

These men and this officer seem to understand why some choose to carry a firearm for self-defense and why stand-your-ground law is needed everywhere. The really significant part of this article is found in the following quotes, especially those of Sgt. Jones. For once a police spokesperson states that citizens have the same right to self-defense and use of a gun in that defense as the police do as long as it is done legally.

"The men say they exercised their constitutional right to own guns, carried them legally and defended themselves within the state's deadly force law.

"If it's appropriate, people have to defend themselves," said Sgt. Barbara Jones, Orlando police spokeswoman. "It's no different from us using a gun. It has to be justified, and we will, of course, investigate what happened."

They sure do need training! Bad guys scan them a few times, and they hang out waiting for a fight! They are lucky not to be dead, or the killer of a child in the building next door(was that suppressive fire?). They are hazardous to your gun rights gentlemen. They need CCW training big time. Funny FL requires a test for CCW unless your a VET or LEO right? Whats on the test?

Glad it turned out okay. Classic feeling out the situation by the BG's before making their attempt at the robbery..

It's no wonder he didn't hit a BG with his 9 mm Kel-Tec. With that long stiff trigger, once that BG is about 10 yds downrange, forget about hitting him.

It's not marksmanship. Just safe gun handling. When I took the class we just had to fire 1 round down range, with no target.

Before I had a CCW, I was afraid in certain environments. After I got a CCW, I am still afraid in those environments. Thats the way it should be! If you don't avoid the situation that requires firearms as if you are not armed... I think you need to seek professional mental help for your Charles Bronson problem. That said, things happen very fast, and I wasn't there. Finally, thank God nobody was killed.

Nice. However the reporter needs to research his guns: "Amezaga drew his .357 Magnum Sig Sauer pistol." He means, of course, 357Sig.

I don't see that as a major issue. 357 Sig with a 124 gr bullet comes pretty close to a 125 gr 357 Mag.

There isn't a single state's CCW test, class, or training that prepares one to fight with a gun. Not a single one.

    +1 on that one!
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.
