A fine job by those local cops.
Cops may have done their job. Prosecutor/DA (maybe an elected position) may not have done their part. It's not always the cops fault.

She really should send the Family an invoice for all the damage he did to her house, the cleanup, and the bullets she had to use plus rental on the piece...since he was "a very, very kind man"...he would probably pop for it...donchathink?

I wish I had a buck for every "very, very, kind person" who has murdered someone. Back in the 1950's, I believe it was then, a kid they called "the nicest kid in Kansas" lined up thirteen people on a bank floor and put a bullet in the back of each of their heads. I'm sure his family thought he was a "very, very, kind person".

Ted Bundy, went to church and was a Boy Scout as a child, such a gentle soul.
He even worked on the Rape hot line in Seattle. So how could 'he' have been guilty of killing all those women and girls.

Deviants and killers and others of like ilk come from all walks of life and many are capable of hiding what they are really like, especially from the family.

they could easily contrast this with any of the similar stories back during the mandatory waiting period. those had different outcomes.

War is not the ugliest of things. Worse is the decayed state of moral feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which he cares for more than his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free. -J.S. Mill
