A would-be robber remained hospitalized in critical condition this afternoon after he was shot by one of his intended victims.
The man was shot about 1:30 a.m. after he followed several people to their car in a Westport parking garage in the 4000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
As the people were getting into their car, the man, who had earlier asked them for money, pulled up his shirt and revealed a gun in his waistband, Kansas City police said.
One of the car’s occupants retrieved his own gun from inside the vehicle and fired.
Police later determined that the wounded man was carrying a BB gun.
Obviously the BG didn't consider the possibility that his intended victim might be armed.

The GG is lucky to be alive. A more adept and perceptive BG would have been able to stop a person that was forced to take additional steps to retrieve a weapon from the car. Can't be relying on the idiot to have a BB gun. And, obviously, the GG wasn't really prepared to be robbed. Had this happened earlier when the BG asked for "a smoke," away from the car and the weapon, they'd have had zero options. Bad juju.
Moral of the story: If you're going to be out and about, and if you're going to be armed ... be armed. Holster it on your person.
Your best weapon is your brain. Don't leave home without it.
Thoughts: Justifiable self defense.
Explain: How does
disarming victims
reduce the number of victims?

Agreed 9mm.
An excellent lesson/moral indeed.
Holsters are cheap.
A hospital stay or worse having ones life taken away, isn't.
