An ounce of lead is worth 200lbs of cop.
Wow.
That first hand account of the survivor is extremely powerful.

I like when he said:
That's what makes me think above all else that he would have been successful if he had had his gun with him. His motives were pure and his only hope was to survive not to be some hero.if I were allowed to carry a gun, I would have and I would have used it.
That is a hard fact. I am not trying to be a hero and say that I would
have tried to save lives. I am saying that I was trying to save my life,
and if my family was there, their lives as well. There is nothing
"hero" about what I am saying, it's about survival.
I'm so glad he made it.

Very powerful account of the event! Don't you know that he struggles with the "what if's" at night. I hope he can keep his sanity and health through this. His accounting is VERY valuable to everyone, LE, folks like us who carry conceal and even the sheeple!
Of course the media will not show how an armed security guard/citizen could have stopped the madman at the mall like one did at the church.
The signs there never said anything about guns specifically. Rule 14 just makes a broad statement about weapons of anykind. I do have to say though, now that the signs are down, yes you can carry there. Oakview mall is owned by the same people and have the same signs that are gone from the westroads. I isn't like these malls are free from trouble either. The crossroads, which is about 20 blocks to the east had a gang incident where someone was thrown off the 3rd floor to the 1st. Signs are like locks, they only stop the honest person.
Wouldn't it be even more damning to walk into civil court and point out to a jury that the defendant (the mall owners) first banned concealed carry that might have stopped the threat (vis a vis the church shooting in CO) and then tried to erase notification that they had done so? It could look VERY bad for them if they are made to look like they were trying to make everyone forget that they had in force a "Gun-Free Zone" that failed to keep anyone safe...

It appears that the signs are back up as of today.
Senator Ashford is a sick anti-gun little prune of a man. He's using this as an opportunity to get the well meaning ignorant masses on his side for some new bills he's proposed.
The local media is really riding this "assault" weapon thing pretty hard. Read some of the comments. People really believe that "semi-auto" is a bad word. They're convinced that the shooter's gun is more deadly than any other firearm. Folks are really on this whole "It shoots faster and it's bullets are more deadly" kick which as we all know is untrue. The amount of wrong information being thrown around is sickening.
"Fahey is even part of a national coalition of mayors against illegal guns" Has there ever been a more rediculous statement? Is there a national coalition of mayors FOR illegal guns? I'm sure that makes Mayor Fahey sleep better. What a bunch of feel good fuzzy bull****.
I'm really sad to be a Nebraskan today. However, I'm also equally as glad that I decided to buy my evil semi-auto assault tactical uber high velocity AR yesterday morning.
