ZIG ZAG, Ore. -- Two Gresham men were shot Monday night during a road rage incident as they drove home from a day of snowboarding, police said.
The victims, 33-year-old Joseph Langley, and 32-year-old Joshua Gehrke , were driving home from Government Camp after a family snowboarding trip with Gehrke's nine-year-old son and his friend in the back of their van when the driver of another car began tailgating them.
The two men pulled over to let that car pass, but the other car stopped as well.
The two men got out of their van and confronted the tailgater, who police say then pulled out a gun and shot them.
After getting shot, the men ran back to the van and began to drive away westbound for a short distance before stopping at the Lolo Pass Road intersection to call 9-1-1.
The suspect also drove away, possibly westbound.
Both victims were taken to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital with serious wounds, one via helicopter. By Tuesday afternoon, one of the men had been treated and released. The other remained in serious condition.
The two nine-year-old boys were not injured.
