    The burglary attempt happened Wednesday night at a home on Edgefield Avenue.
    GASTONIA, N.C. -- A quick-thinking teenager thwarted a would-be burglary Wednesday night.

    Police say the 16-year-old boy heard glass break in a rear room of his Edgefield Avenue home. When he went to investigate, he observed a white man climbing in through the window and kicked him in the face.

    The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Albert Adams, ran from the scene and was picked up by police a few blocks from the home. Adams was bleeding from his face and abdomen and police say his face appeared to have a shoe print on the right side.

    Adams was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary.

    but... you're not supposed to resist... just let the guy have what he wants... resisting is only likely to anger the attacker...

    A good, solid boot to the face is quite a discouragement, huh :) Good guy goes home, bad guy is in jail, with a little something to remember the event with... Sounds good to me!

    I think if given the opportunity, leaving a footprint would be very gratifying..

    Even if you were legally covered taking a shot to prevent forced entry, I would def go for the kick - makes me laugh thinking about it!
