    Cool

AND they had already heard of attacks on dogs.
Did they pass a sign warning of it also?

I would think bear spray would be sufficient where those ladies don't wish to carry guns. By the sound of it, the wolves took considerable time before going after their prey of choice.

DumbA$$! if you see a warning sign and still go into the wild unprepared then you get what you asked for. They were very lucky.

Think again. If they dont want to carry guns, the they probably should not be in the Alaskan woods.

Lived in Alaska for 7 years...when dog sledding, someone always had a .44MAG pistol...

If you go unprepared into the AK wilderness, you MAY pay the ultimate price.

    Stay armed...use common sense...stay safe!

Was born there and have always said that if I go back, and maybe get to hunt, I will not walk into the woods with anything less than a 44 mag. revolver. I do now own a 44 mag. revolver.

+100 Sounds like some common sense is lacking.

A pack of wloves is bad juju.

If I even thought for a second that I could get jumped,, I would carry no less than a 12 guage loaded up with Buckshot.

7 on 1 is not good odds. 7 on two aint that great either....and I dont care how tough a pit bull is, he cant fight 7 hungry wolves.

Those two women were guilty of beleiving it wouldnt happen to them, in spite of the warnings.

    Agreed HG.

BTW if I saw a sign that said "Warning...Wolves 20 feet out!...Ate a dog!" then my own degree of common sense would advise me; 'Hey, lets go find _some other place_ to go jogging'. Duh!
Or if for some odd reason there is no other place then go join a gym or buy a treadmill.

Wolves are overall physically much stronger than dogs and their jaws can IIRC generate upwards of twice that much of a dog, any breed of dog.
Also the lady says she "rainbowed" her pepper spray. No wonder it didn't work.
Who taught her that technique? Spray the lead animal in the face directly. In the eyes and snout. Same goes for his second and any other lieutenants.
I bet she was thinking oh I don't want to hurt them...as she's in danger of them taking the life of her dog and/or her own.

This is about as dumb as it gets.

She was in the Panic Mode...trying to spray them all at the same time.

Too bad it dont work like that.

These ladies should have known better than to go there. Or they should have been armed.

I have a theory, which I have not had a chance to fully prove, that the smell of the solvents and oils used on guns is detected by animals and assosiated with very bad things happenning to them. I think that merely having a firearm would probably made the wolves stay hidden.

Something tells me they would have scattered once the leader of the pack went down with bullet in his chest. Of course that would have required prior planning on the 'victim's' part.
