Bottom line is
Man shoots and kills home-invasion robber
December 14th, 2007 @ 12:00pm
Police are looking for two suspects in a home invasion robbery. A third suspect is dead after the homeowner shot him.
...
Now police are looking for the second robber, who fled, and the woman who knocked on the door.
Sgt. Chad Evans said, "Because of what happened last night, we believe he's probably more scared and on the run than looking to do something like this again. We're hoping that's the case."
If BGs forceably entered your house and you shot one of them, would you fear any type of retribution by the BG's buddies?

"would you fear any type of retribution by the BG's buddies?"
Probably yes. It would be prudent to at least consider the possibility of retribution from friends or family members.

Attempted retribution is IMO always a consideration ...... seeing as in so many cases, even where the shoot was totally justified and necessary - there will always be the ''but he was such a good boy'' people, whether friends or family.
They will always feel wronged. Some just might plan retribution.

Depends..
if it was just the average scuzball, probably not.
if it was a gangbanger...maybe.

Yes.
And if the assailant(s) are latino or Black or teenaged and/or part of a gang or simply from the neighborhood, then yes most definitely I'd expect as much.
It matters not what race you the GG/victim might be or if you were 100% completely in the right to defend yourself and 100% wronged by the attackers.
For an example of as much and how quickly and deeply south such a real world scenario can go take a peek at the following story in the order as provided below:
A boy dies, and a gun debate is reignited

Ain't no doubt about it! Hopefully the dirtbags don't remember where it happened. Too bad he didn't plug all three!

Absolutely.
Why? They know where I live. They've seen inside the place. They're anonymous. They tried to kill me once. They've been shown up, in a deadly way. That's a very bad mix.
I'll hang out elsewhere, for at least awhile.

I would imagine so. There's always that possibility. I don't sleep much anyway. If things go as planned, the aftermath would be a one sided story far as I was concerned. Take no prisoners, and finish the task at hand. If other would be supporters of the perp aren't wise enough to capture the message, then so be it. More than likely they'll need to learn on their own. Depending on the possible issues, one might move, or recon their own dwelling from a remote location. Set up a survey/tactical position keeping your homestead in view and no more than 500yds away for a few days. Indeed I'd go with heavier/longer range firepower also. Thing I would fear most would be a hoard with torches setting the place ablaze flushing you and your family outside into a gauntlet. Family members should spend time with relatives or nearby friends until the perceived threat is suppressed in one form or another.

I'm in uptown Phoenix, a 500 yard shot would be unheard of. BUT...the majority of shootings here are between gangbangers and/or illegal immigrants shooting each other. OK by me, as long as they don't hurt any innocent bystanders. I call it retroactive birth control.

From a normal dirtbag, no, not really. Gangs, yes. Irrational lawsuits from gold digging family members of the shot bad guy, bet on it; they have nothing to lose.

Unfortunately, I think its a strong possibility. Best friends, family, whatever.
So unbelieveably wrong, stupid, ignorant, and the whole B.S. Victem mentality. "How dare YOU shoot ME when I break into your home!" Or "Who are you to shoot my son (even though he was breaking into your house).ugh.
Its a sad,sad world when you have to worry about your back merely for defending your life.

Already dealt with that situation once...sort of...
Six months ago we had some 'clowns' driving through the neighborhood looking into open garages...very obvious and carefully! I called 911 and proceed to get my car and follow them (1/2 mile behind) while still in contact with 911. Eventually, 3 cars surrounded them...I don't know of any outcome.
A few months later, the same car came down our street again and I was in the garage when I noticed them come around a second time and slow down to stare at me...
Well the third time they came around
, I had my cover shirt off exposing my sidearm (certainly not an advised common practice, but seemed appropriate for the occasion)...still in my garage, but very much in view...I gave an unfriendly stare as they slowed down again, they did a double-take
and took off...haven't seen them since!
Stay armed...it's a crazy world out there...stay safe!
