    Another Home Invader Dies

    http://www.wacotrib.com/news/content...8waccops3.html

A homeowner shot and killed a man as he forced his way into a home in Copperas Cove on Friday afternoon, police said.

Police were called to 2204 Boland St. after shots were fired inside the home. They discovered a man who had been shot several times in the upper torso, Copperas Cove police said in a statement.

Through the investigation, police learned the man was an intruder who had “entered the residence unlawfully and apparently used physical force against the homeowner,” police said.

The intruder was taken to Darnall Army Hospital where he died from his injuries. The man’s identity was not released pending notification of family, police said.

The shooting remained under investigation Friday evening.

Hope the investigation goes well for the homeowner.

Well, that's a little closer to a hope than certainty, now that they've published his full home address. Silly and irresponsible when they do that.

There are so many of these hom intrusions happening. Far more of them being reported, I think. Hopefully, folks will keep waking up to the new reality: criminals have dialled up the heat, a couple of notches. Bold, brazen and violent seem to be the watchwords.

Well, I work 12 hours shifts and have 17 out of 35 days off. I find these stories interesting as they help me to learn when a shooting is justified and when it isn't.

I was stationed down there from 1996 to 2001. Hope to go back sense Texas has good carry laws. Good luck if that home owner was in the right.
