The only thing I値l say is remember they use to hang horse thieves, and my Harley deserves at least the same respect

OPFOR I was thinking that myself, although I have to say, I could have walked around Riyadh when I was there with 100s hanging out of my pockets and not been touched...

Although the damned car bombs that they liked to put under our cars kinda negates the warm and fuzzy feelings there...

I dont want to shoot someone over property unless it is something me and mine need to survive. I mean if it was such a case then sure, otherwise I can replace it. It would have to be dire circumstances.

"They used to..." is about the poorest possible justification for anything that I can think of. "They used to" have slaves. "They used to" put small pox in blankets and give them to the native population. "They used to" keep women and 'coloreds' from voting. Some of you may want to live in 1865 Dodge City (or 1995 Kabul), but I ain't one of 'em.

We have reasonable laws (for the most part) because we are a reasonable society that realizes that human life is worth more than a 'thing.' I'll ask this - did any of you out there (or your dad, or brother, or uncle) ever participate in a joy-ride? Break a window in an abandoned building? Play mail-box baseball? Do you think that your lives were forfeit for said property loss/damage?

I swear, some times the blood-lust on this board really bothers me...
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I値l have to say I agree with you. And I値l have to offer my apologies.

Hang um high was more a feeling of love for my Harley, that it is an expression of what I would do.

Just last year, I could have stopped a purse snatcher, but I didn稚 because I refuse to shoot someone for stealing a purse.

As much as I love my Harley, I would not shoot someone trying to steal it. But if I caught him, I would show him my pretty noise maker and ask him to wait for the boys with the nice blue lights.

But, if he took off running, and I could not catch him, (like I could not chase down the purse snatcher) I would not shoot.

I don't think these sort of shootings start out as protecting property. I have had to go out and check on people just walking up to my home and vehicles. I live in town on a corner, I won't do that unarmed. If they try something then well we are in play. It is not about property to me it is about keeping people with ill intent away from my home and family. Give them an inch and they will take a mile. That being said I don't go out without 911 being dialed.
