Would you get involved in this?
OK, you may not want to get involved with someone beating up on a woman on a commuter train.
But if you saw this happening, would you use deadly force to stop this guy?
I would. Hard to not get involved.

99.8% of situations, I'll do my absolute best to consider my legal rights and the potential repercussions of my actions before getting involved in a situation.
There are a few exceptions. If I walked in on a rape would be one such exception.
Watching a dude throw a kid off a bridge... I'm doing a Mozambique drill before he has time to throw the second one off.

Not to children........I think I'd end his drug habit and then go for a swim.

Agreed with you guys, this would be a justifiable shoot to stop action for a civilian...even in MA.

Words can't even begin to express how I feel about this in all aspects.. the pity and devastation for the mother, the anger and indignation toward the father, the shock and amazement that a human being could be so cruel and the rage at why he hasn't been put in a sack and thrown over a bridge.
No, I COULD NOT stand by and watch.
And I don't think anyone with an ounce of conscience could either.
There are situations that are unclear what is really going on, but a man throwing a child off a bridge is not one of them.
I'm with goldshellback, I'd end his drug habit, make the call to rescuers and go for a swim.

I'd get involved in either of those instances. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't.

i'd have shot the guy called the police and jumped in for any kids he tossed prior to my involvment.

i wouldnt be able to live with myself otherwise

That is one of those clear cut cases. No chance of misunderstanding what is happening. This is a "no brainer" for me. I can't imagine anyone standing by and watch him throw the other kids off the bridge.

Of course. No hesitation.

Horrible, horrible stuff. Of course I would have to step in. It makes me nervous whenever I'm out shopping (ex. Walmart) and all these people are around me. You just never know what thoughts are running through their head or who they really are.
