Yep, gotta watch out for those young kids walking around with pants hanging off their butts, and dressed like gangsters. Oh wait, he stole the car, what did the trigger happy car owner look like? Besides having a STUPID tattoo on his forehead.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

The car owner is an idiot.

And like the cop said...never warm your car up with the keys in it and the doors open.
For that matter there is no need to warm up a modern car period!

Further yet another example of how firing on to motorized vehicles is extremely dangerous as related to the WORLD that exists around us, and the BG.
Let the car go, dial 911, and insurance will repair or replace it...whihcis why one pays their insurance premiums.

Now this fool will likely be hot with fines and jail time greater than that of the car thief, and he's civilly liable for damages against three people; the car the BG hit head on, the woman with the damaged red Saturn, and the homeowner where the bullet did multiple layers of damage and luckily did not hit anyone.

All that and loss of his freedom and forever his 2A rights over a decade old easy to repair or replace car.

Well it might make the passenger compartment more comfortable and even defrost the windows if humid/frosty inside.

A spare set of keys to keep the car locked while warming up would have cost a lot less than that guy's legal bills.

Here in VA it is illegal to use deadly force to protect property. This is probably why. Property can be replaced, human life can not.

Basic remote car starter: $60-$150. Great investment.

That takes like 2 (defrost) to 5 minutes (heating up interior) though, max...and can be done while actually driving and under way.

I wouldn't lock the door with windows rolled up either.
    Two reasons.
First breaking into a locked car is easy, and quick.
Second concern for CO build up in the cabin. Especially with an older car and leaks at exhaust pipe joints.

Remote starter is better though if one lives in a frigid region where pre-start is actually a necessity.
In this specific case obviously that was not an issue as the BG was wearing street clothes and a hooded sweat shirt. The lady with the red Saturn one couldn't even see her breath as she spoke which indicates it was 40 or degrees or warmer. And there was no snow on the ground in the telecast video.

In Indiana a "gun permit" is a LCH, open or concealed.

Protecting property and reckless endangerment are two different things, what a tool this guy is!!! Not everybody from IN is like this.

It would be great for someone local, preferably with credibility, to write a letter to the paper or request an interview explaining that this action is no way condoned by the vast majority of shooters!

They will read it, but that is about all. No way they would do a Pro 2a interview, unless they could work it their way to make it anti.
