Here, the average pay is in the 60-70k mark, medium income is probably about 45k, a nice 1800sqft 4 bedroom home will set you back about 200k.
That's a nice balance of pay and cost-of-living. Sounds like you got a pretty good thing going and it's refreshing to hear you admit it.

Plus, with some savvy investing and maybe a little OT, I believe you could actually retire "rich"..................

You don't want to pay more taxes cause you can't keep up with gas prices Mr 427. You need to get yourself a nice 1983 chevette, and with all the money you save on gas you can buy more ammo for your local PD. I call that a win win! :)

Totally agree. Now get the average cop to go practice! We'd supply the ammo and range time for free, but try to get the average street deputy to take advantage of it. Now, the TOU and SWAT guys would burn us out of ammo, and good for them! It just scares me to death to see heavily armed average street cops have difficulty hitting COM targets at fifteen yards.

I agree with both SIXTO and AZHUSKER that qualifying is not practice and practice is not qualifying. Most depts do not have the budget allocated to train all their officers to ensure all meet standards. I (as a "standard" officer in my dept) would absolutely spend as much time as possible training. IIRC, some court decisions(including SCOTUS) would require alot more training for LEOS.

I need more training. The rest of the world can do as they please. BG are expert shots naturally and should never practice lest they impair their excellent sideways/ overhand shooting technique. Muslims should never touch the trigger of a gun until the day after they do battle with an infidel allah said so

Glad the officer got his man
