You just beat me to this. So there's no law prohibiting carrying guns in schools in Ohio?

Gun Free Zone = Fish in a Barrel

If you want the best odds of killing your intended victim, just wait for them to go to school.

Schools are an extremely soft target. It's surprising that more of these incidents don't happen than do.

Local news here says shes listed in critical condition. They are showing some interviews with the kids right now. Man, it tears me up to see how this stuff affects the kids.

Now they are reporting a possible second victim.

I was told that having a sign at a school saying Gun Free Zone kept people from carrying guns to school!!!

If she was armed...do you think that would of made a difference in the outcome...especially with domestic disputes???

I think the place being a gun free zone or not would made absolutely no difference in the outcome for this particular case...could of well been at their home.

This is a horrible. Nothing like gunning down a loved one in front of a room full of kids.

And the "Gun free zone's" seem to be better at attracting violence rather than preventing it. Obviously the signs are to small. Because we all know that everyone obeys a sign on the wall.

Someone else could have taken care of him had they been armed. No one could help her with a gun or a knife the way the law is now. That is the point.

I doubt before he had already commited the act...my point. Afterwards...hostages or worse...perhaps. But it being a gun free zone would have had no bearing on what actually occurred.

CNN just updated the story saying that the husband entered her classroom during class, began arguing with her in front of the students, shot her, and then as he was down stabbed her repeatedly.
He then fled the school and police are reporting now that they have found his body dead at his home.

She having a gun on her person for individual personal protection would have been _potentially_ effective if even allowed she had made the personal choice to do so and to train and to when pressed deploy as much and use it appropriately keeping mind of her background.

Unfortunately as a result of this situation that classroom is now full of anti gun legislation potential future voters as due to seeing and being impressed very much negatively by the use of a gun by an obviously mad disturbed man.

Well put. It more than likely will scar those kids for life against firearms.
