    Unbelievable

I hope they throw the book at them, both men broke the law and both deserve jail.

Davis started road raging with his two young daughters in the car: He is a total nutcase. Then Vilcez had to join the stupid game. It takes two fools to play a road rage game. If one driver refuses to play the game is over.

Yeah, this does not make CCW look good. Good news is that both will be charged with felonies. That will end their legal gun ownership.

Sheriff's reports show that deputies recovered a 45 calibre Taurus semi-automatic and a 38 calibre Keltec automatic.

A Keltec .38 automatic??? I'll bet they meant .380. I can't count the number of times that I've seen "Glock service revolver" in the news.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, both drivers have been charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, discharging a firearm in public and aggravated child abuse.

    Morons.

I expect some hefty prison terms for these Mensa candidates.

There are two kinds of stupid: the guy in front, and the guy behind. Any number of people could have been killed due to this juvenile peeing contest. I hope their sentences reflect exactly this, that attempted murder doesn't fly.

Sheriff's reports show that ... Davis and Vilchez had valid permits to carry a concealed weapon, Padilla said.
Another banner day for the cause of upstanding citizens everywhere. Idiots. I think it's safe to say that neither will be owning a firearm anytime soon.

I couldn't determine for sure but I assume this was in FL. I never saw the state mentioned. I don't think any amount of training would have done any good in this case because both seem to dumb to be trained and really gives a bad name to CWP holders. I know the overwhelming majority of CWP holders are sensible law-abiding citizens but this does put a damper on that arguement when we try to raise it.

I don't have an answer but maybe some of you do.

Personally I am thrilled that these two idiots managed to find each other, and get themselves arrested for felonies, without involving the rest of us.

Either of these fools might have drawn down on a COP, or on someone who nicked their door in a parking lot.

What, you figured that CCW stupidity would NEVER happen?

Suck it up. It could have been REALLY bad.

    2 items of note......

Both have previous criminal records, and no mention is now made of either having a valid CCW. There may be a slight ray of hope that this won't reflect badly on the CCW community and that these two will simply be seen as the idiots that they are.

HA! Suddenly they have criminal histories and no valid CCW licenses.

    How amusing.

I hope you're right. From the article:
Both men have past arrests, records show.

Vilchez was convicted of criminal mischief in 1998.

Davis spent time in jail in 1988 and 1996 on larceny charges.
It's possible that these were all misdemeanors and since they are all more than 5 years ago, they still could have had valid Florida CCWs.

Anybody want to make any bets that if it turns out that they don't have CCW licenses the paper prints a retraction that it was reported incorrectly?
