Ugly: Shooting at L.A. bus stop leaves 8 wounded

Shooting at L.A. bus stop leaves 8 wounded - CNN.com

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- A gunman fired into a crowd of people at a Los Angeles bus stop Wednesday, wounding eight, including children, authorities said.

The incident took place about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Central and Vernon avenues, in an area of the city where police are concerned about gang violence, Lt. Ruben de la Torre of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The shooting happened near a middle school, but not on school grounds.

The school was placed on lockdown after the incident, but parents later were allowed to pick up their children.

The shooting victims range in age from 10 to 68, police said.

Two -- a 49-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy -- were in critical condition. Four of the victims were 14 or younger.

Police do not know the motive behind the shooting, but believe the gunman was targeting one of the victims, de la Torre said.

Authorities were searching for the gunman, described as a black male aged 20 to 25, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Good grief. People are simply disgusting some times... I'm really getting to the point where I think we should ban most of them.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

There's a lot of evil in this world. I simply can't understand people who refuse to acknowledge that, and to take reasonable precautions to protect themselves and those they love from it as best they can.

    How correct you are

On a serious note. I hope they get the shooter, he apparently as no care or concern for any other human being.

It would seem that many folks think that the only way to solve a problem is to shoot everyone in sight. The mental process that rabid killers go through defies logic. By the way isn't the peoples Republic of Kalifornia one of the ateas that are restrictive on ordinary people owning fire arms? It seems as though their police should focus on the criminal element in their society.

Stupid, slimy embecile. Of course, the Brady Bunch will try to get mileage out of this, and politicians will try to get votes from it. One legal gun owner could have stopped him in his tracks.

Anti's scream about testing us for proficiency. How about we start genetic testing on them to see if they are suitable for the gene pool? Oh, wait, Hitler already tried that and our government studied it..........never mind.

However, some witnesses said they saw two men arguing in the Jack In the Box behind the bus stop. One man left the restaurant, and when the other one stepped out the first man fired at him.
Bad burritos will get you every time.

If this turns out to be the scenario that caused the shooting, it will be interesting to see if all the details end up becoming known. What would you do, if an argument ensued, you left, but the other came storming out to continue the "fight"? Many variables, there, but at some point, if the first guy didn't start it and chose to deescalate by leaving, it could be justifiable defense if he saw a drawn weapon as the other guy exited the restaurant after him. But then, we don't know hardly enough detail to make a call. We'll see.
