Pennsylvania Hair Stylist Shoots Client Unhappy With Cut
Friday, March 07, 2008
She thought she was getting a bad haircut, but police in southwestern Pennsylvania say when Lauren Newton complained, she got a bullet in the back.
Newton's hairstylist is now facing charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
Police say the two had been arguing yesterday about the style of the cut when the hairstylist left the room and returned with a gun. Newton and her sister tried to flee after the stylist fired a shot into the ceiling, but police say that's when a second shot hit Newton in the lower back.
She was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
The hairstylist is being held in a Washington, Pennsylvania, jail on $50,000 bond.

Even when I go to get a hair cut.
Especially when you go get a haircut.
Reminds me why I don't complain about my barber. He keeps a shotgun in his shop.
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

Wow,
I can't imagine getting so upset with a complaining customer that I leave the room and come back with a gun. I would like to say "unbelievable", but sadly, events like this are becoming more and more common these days.

I just shave my head, which is a danger in and of itself when I ask my wife to help.

Funny, I carried at my barber's for the first time last week. The shop I go to is almost always empty by the time I show up. It's usually just me and the barber. Any time I'm in a lonely public place I imagine the worst scenarios.

I just got back less than an hour ago from getting my haircut at Walmart. The lady always cuts my hair funny. Yet now I'm just happy to not have gotten shot too.

We must be distantly related because that's a potential look for me as well. When I find someone who knows how to cut my hair, I stick with them.
