ORANGE COUNTY - An east Orange County man was shot and killed early Sunday after he and his girlfriend came home and found two men ransacking their house.
At about 2:30 a.m., Omar Roman, 30, and his girlfriend returned to their home in the 700 block of Okaloosa Avenue off Goldenrod Road from a trip to Taco Bell and discovered two men wearing black bandannas over their faces in the garage, according to sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons.
Roman was shot and killed after confronting the two men, Solomons said. The girlfriend, who was not identified, drove to Roman's parents' house across the street and called police.
The suspects drove off after the shooting. Solomons did not have a detailed description of the men or their vehicle. He said evidence inside the house suggested the shooting might be drug-related, but deputies did not give specifics.
