Note to criminals......Don't rob people out or your home address!

Any pizza delivery job where the employer does not allow an employee the ablity to protect himself should provide multi-million dollar life and disability insurance. The few crumby bucks that the company stands to loose is nothing conpared to what the employee has on the line.

Sadly, one can almost guarantee that Pizza Hut will fire him.

Domino's and Papa John's both have "no weapons" policies as well. I have a friend that was fired from Domino's after a visiting district manager randomly searched his car. They found his hand ax and fired him over that, but didn't say anything about the box of shotgun shells or the empty Crown Royal bottle....

Vonnie Walbert, vice president of human resources at Pizza Hut, said:

“We have policy against carrying weapons. We prohibit employees from carrying guns because we believe that that is the safest for everybody.”
When was the last time Vonnie Walbert delivered a pizza and was shown the wrong end of a gun? Arm-chair general. It's easy to make dangerous policy decisions for others when you're sitting in your safe office rather than working the streets.

Officers said Spiers told them “that he had a gun in each of his front coat pockets.”
    +1 for being prepared.

The officer found a metallic gun from the left pocket of Spiers’ coat and a black handgun in the right hand pocket.
Hahahaha, a "metallic" gun! Who wrote this?

It wouldn't look good for Pizza Hut if the politically correct thought that they were putting a minority group...such as criminals, at a disadvantage by allowing their employees to defend themselves!

It's not enough to just gripe in the forum about it. Use this incident to educate Pizza Hut and encourage them to change their policies. Everytime we see one of these stories, we could take a minute or two out of our day and express ourselves to the company.

It may not be so much that Pizza Hut is anti-gun... They may just feel that *allowing* it is too controversial and see it as a "no brainer" policy (like most businesses with no-weapons policies). Let them know that their rule is controversial and that they have to put some thought behind their decision.

The facts are indisputable. There is more data supporting the benefits of Conceal Carry than there is supporting global warming. If you choose ignorance, in light of all the evidence, in order to bolster your irrational fear of guns, you are a greater threat to society than any gun owner.

I guess the popularity of Glocks and other "plastic" guns means that they are the default handgun to uninformed reporters!

What Vonnie means is that the "no guns" policy makes it safer for Pizza Hut's liability risk level. If they allowed their drivers to carry, then the company could be sued by anyone shot by one of their drivers. Why not have the policy and just not enforce it? Then, they lower their risk while still "allowing" (wink-wink) their drivers to defend themselves.

Weenie Hut Jr. and Super Weenie Hut Jr. are both already taken by Spongebob Squarepants (it's hell having a two year old).

Pizza Hut says "it's safer that way"

    For who?
    the Robbers ?

to Protect us & Make us “Safer”
    We Have…

ABS and Stability Control for Skidding
    Seatbelts & Airbags for Crashes
    Alarms and Extinguishers for Fires
    Lawyers and Insurance for Suits
    Helmets & Padding for Sports

So what exactly are we expected to use to protect ourselves from those who would do us harm
Good Words and a Kind Remark

It seems that the general public is scared more of inanimate objects (of all kinds)
Than those with Larcenous or Murderous Intentions and Evil Motivation

“Oh Dear. We must do something about the Violent crime around us”
    But
“Heavens NO we don’t want law abiding citizens to carry any Nasty Guns, they might hurt Someone”

    BS

    After Heller
(and I am very confident the Gun owning community will be at least mostly pleased with the SCOTUS finding)

Someone Somewhere is going to SUE for NOT allowing a loved one to adequately protect themselves,
