Fresh Tasty Ideas » 11 year-old girl shoots two home intruders

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father’s room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.

    This is just simply amazing

Unfortunately, as charming as the story is, it's a fake:

I'd love to see an 11 year old girl handle the recoil of a 12 gauge buckshot shell, twice

    Peace,

Yep, it is a fake that keeps getting recirculated. I really liked this comment at beginning of the article in the link...
Here’s a story that won’t be reported by the agenda-driven mainstream media:
That is because it is fake, of course.

Following the link further to its source, LibertyPost.org, shows that they have removed the story.

When it comes to internet stories, you can often spot the fakes pretty easily if you apply a little common sense.

    1. Stories tend to be well loaded with detail about the events.
We know the names and ages of the bad guys, their heritage, and the first name and age of the little girl.

    2. Stories tend to be largely missing any relevant information that allows for truthing the story.
We don't know the last name of the little girl. We don't know the town in Montanna where this happened. We don't know the date of the event. We don't know what law enforcement department that is handling the case and there is no comment from a representative LEO. We don't know the ACTUAL newspaper that reported the event.

    3. The events reported are truly amazing. This should be a red flag. Amazing things do happen and this should not result into immediately dismissing such a story, but when a story is overly amazing, it should be able to be actually verified at the source, not a blog.

So we are left with overly specific information in some areas, but not in others and these are discrepancies that you should not find in real articles. Sure, you can get a posting date from the Fresh Tasty Ideas website, but that isn't a date on the actual article. However, given how old the posting date was, there should be a follow-up article of some sort for such an amazing hero story, but there isn't. That is another big clue.

To be honest, I am surprised to see this truncated version. In the longer version it talks about the histories of the bad guys, the previous victims, where they got their weapons, and the 'fact' that the little girl is a champion shooter, either sporting clays or rifle.

Here is the snopes accounting. This is a good place to look for overly amazing stories...
