Palm Bay woman accused of attacking husband with soap

    BY J.D. GALLOP • FLORIDA TODAY • April 9, 2008

PALM BAY — A 43-year-old woman who police said trespassed into a home and attacked her estranged husband in the shower with a bar of unwrapped soap, will face a judge next month.

Cheryl Ann Lunderman, of the 900 Raleigh Road, was charged with battery and burglary to an occupied dwelling after Palm Bay Police were called to a home located on the 2200 block of Oklahoma Avenue to investigate reports of a disturbance, reports show.

Lunderman, listed by police as a registered nurse, is expected to have a hearing on the charges May 16, records show.

Last week a judge ordered Lunderman not to return to the home or have any further contact with the victim, records show.

Palm Bay Police said the man was home taking a shower about 9:30 p.m. on April 2 when Lunderman got into the residence, walked into the bathroom and struck him in the face with an unwrapped bar of soap.

The man’s right eye was bruised by the soap, investigators said. The couple had been married for over two decades when they separated, officials reported.

Police arrested Lunderman and transported her to the Brevard County Jail Complex.

Police are seeking $134 in investigative costs in the case, reports show.
I wonder if that soap was registered?
Also, did she have a concealed carry permit since it was still under wraps?

Husband's SA is somewhat suspect. Should not have been in condition white.

The story said it was unwrapped, so she was open carrying. Maybe she was just trying to help him clean up his act.

I call dibs on the obligatory "dropping the soap" joke!
The facts are indisputable. There is more data supporting the benefits of Conceal Carry than there is supporting global warming. If you choose ignorance, in light of all the evidence, in order to bolster your irrational fear of guns, you are a greater threat to society than any gun owner.

Police found very few clues, apparently someone must have really cleaned up the crime scene...

    She's an RN?
She just put her professional licensure at risk.
Premeditation is involved, obviously; intentional breaking and entering, or intentional unlawful entry, into an occupied structure. This is an "Aggravated" specification in some jurisdictions and can elevate the offense to felony category.
Intentionally employed a weapon. It does not say whether it was a weapon of opportunity or whether she brought it with her. If she brought the bar of soap, again, this is premeditation.
Her mental state is obviously in question. Who would select a wrapped bar of soap as an assault weapon? (As an aside, what has the Brady Bunch to say about this new, easily gotten, unregistered, assault weapon? As a cop I saw many of them: they were called cars, fists, feet, beer bottles, ball bats, frying pans, irons, etc. -- all were assault weapons -- they were weapons used to assault!)
This woman has some mental issues. Get her off the street, at minimum get her some help, but get her out of circulation!

    Question

    What's the problem?

Haven't we all got soap in our eye at some point in time while taking a shower?

Thats funny. But she definitely needs a time out, plus some one-on-one time with a counselor.
