In this incident the police officer somehow lost his magazine while drawing his pistol and had to draw his BUG (magazine disconect on the primary?).
edit: as has been pointed out (thanks) this has already been posted in another board, I just put it here because I think it illustrates the importance of having "fallbacks" if our primary weapon becomes inoperable for some reason.
What would have happened if this officer would not have had options beyond his primary.

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.
