FORT LAUDERDALE - Police are investigating a double shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon in the city's northwest neighborhoods, officers said.

The gunfire erupted about 1:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Northwest 14th Terrace, police spokeswoman Detective Kathy Collins said. A woman was shot in the neck and another person in the leg, she said.

Authorities were looking for a gold Chevrolet convertible, she said.

Information about the victims' conditions and other details were expected to become available later Sunday.

FORT LAUDERDALE - A man suspected of shooting two women, killing one of them earlier this week, was tracked down to Gainesville this afternoon, according to police.

Kevin Cartwright, 39, was found with the help of a tip sent to Broward Crime Stoppers, said officials. Gainesville police located and arrested Cartwright without incident. Detectives are in the process of extraditing him to Fort Lauderdale.

Cartwright is suspected in a shooting Sunday in the 700 block of Northwest 14th Terrace that killed Shanesa Conway, 22.

Shameca Davis, 22, was shot in the leg and survived.

Since the killing, police have received multiple tips. Officials found Cartwright's gold Chevrolet in a rental storage facility on the 5000 block of State Road 7 Thursday afternoon.

You mean: Fote Lawdadawu & Lawdaheo.....Fort Liquordale was when we went to school......it's changed! I am so glad I got the H*** outta there when I did.....not that where I moved is turning out much better.....

I had to go to Tallahasseee last week on business...(in the FL Dept of Ag building no less!)......much of the same up there, although it's beautiful land and lots of trees.
