Chased him outside and shot him in the back while he was trying to flee......that's putting a little more faith in the "Castle Doctrine" than I'd be willing to! Glad it worked out for him though!

Some feel that the homeowner may have used 'excessive force', I agree...

Seems like a lot of "shot in the back while fleeing" stories out of Texas lately (unless that's all the MSM is reporting....). Personally, once the threat is gone, she goes back into her holster ready for the next dirtbag. Just because the law allows shooting someone in the back doesn't make it the right thing to do. But who am sitting in the armchair and it's not Monday morning anyway....

Didn't notice if they disclosed whether anyone else was in the home at the time. If my family were in the house, I'd unload too. Never know if he's headed toward his pistola...

mixed emotions... certainly the scumbag won't be doing that again. Ever!

I hope charges do not come of this later on... but who knows.

It's a different flavor of justice in Texas. Wish the laws were like this in my state. Hey, as long as the BGs know the rules, it's their loss. No foul.

Excessive force is HOW home intruders, parking lot purse snatchers, car jackers and the like should be met....the idea that WE as law abiding citizens should meet a BG with any less intent on harming them than they had in harming us is..... thinking.

My "personal Castle Doctrine" reaches out as far as I can hit the target.

I love my state. We'll shoot 'em coming or going...don't matter much to us.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

I don't necessarily disagree with that premise!

I used to think like that, but not any more. The dirtbags shoot behind their back as they run...or maybe they're just trying to find some cover before drawing and firing....or maybe they'll be back later with help. If I ever have to fire once...I'm firing til slide lock...God have mercy on their souls...because I won't.

If they think they can just spin around and turn their back to me to save their worthless hides they are gravely mistaken.
