FORT PIERCE — Four teens have been charged in connection with the early Sunday armed robbery of a Red Lobster restaurant.
Three of the teens are 17 years old, and one is 16. They all have been charged with larceny, robbery with a firearm and robbery by sudden snatching, according to police reports. They all were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the restaurant at Darter Court in Fort Pierce shortly after midnight Sunday. The night manager told officers that four men with gloves, masks and guns stormed into the front entrance. Two of the teens forced three employees to the ground at gunpoint, according to the report.
Another held a gun to the night manager and forced her to walk to the safe, and he struck her on the left shoulder blade with the gun, the report states. They took about $2,500 from the safe. They also made off with an employee's purse, the report states.
All four then ran from the restaurant toward the south side of Interstate 95, witnesses said. By Sunday afternoon, police tracked down the suspects, one of whom is an employee at the restaurant.
