Man shot defending female restaurant employee

Durham, N.C. Police were seeking the public's help identifying three people who might be connected to the shooting of a man at a restaurant Sunday night.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, and several friends were at Plaza Garibaldi restaurant on Foushee Street around 10:30 p.m. He noticed a man harassing a female employee and asked the second man to leave her alone.

The second man, who appeared to be intoxicated, shot the victim several times in the torso.

The victim was taken to Duke University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Easier to call 911 than be a hero...if it's not worthy of a 911 call, then it's probably none of your business. Harassing employees is not against the law, so I'm not exactly sure what the problem was...or who knew who...
In today's world, it is very possible that the employee may have told you to mind your own business (lover's dispute, etc...)...not worth getting involved (especially shot) unless a crime was being committed...OMO

More info needed for a 'real' decision.

Stay armed...mind your own business...stay safe!

+1 In a situation like that, I think management should try to handle it. If that does not work, a call to 911.

It's sad--there was a time when such an action on the victim's part would have been universally (with the exception of the perp) been described as "gallant" or "heroic". It is a shame that standard good manners can get you shot.
