A man who got robbed and stabbed in the back at a Miami Shell station was in no mood to let his attackers get away unscathed.
So the man jumped into his brown, late-model Cadillac and chased his tormentors before giving up the pursuit outside Kinloch Park Middle School.
There he called 911. Miami Fire Rescue showed up and removed his shirt and treated his bloody back before placing him, face down, on a gurney and taking him to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Parents and students watched the drama play out.
The robbery happened about 1:30 p.m. at a Shell Station at Northwest Seventh Street and 42nd Avenue. The man was gassing up his Caddy when three people descended. It was not immediately clear whether they succeeded in robbing him, but they did stab him in the back.
Then they fled in what was described as a blue, four-door car, possibly a Hyundai.
The victim jumped in his car and went after them, but apparently abandoned the chase outside the middle school at 4340 NW Third St.
Police were looking at surveillance video from the gas station, although it apparently did not show a clear depiction of the crime.
