Huh?! I bet it wouldn't have been a suspended sentence if he tried to kill the judge (that he kept missing court dates with).

I guess because the guy was able to defend himself and disarm spiffy preventing his being perforated then it's not as serious as being perforated

Wow! Attempted murder is usually when you shoot at someone and either miss or wound but not kill them. I thought that just pointing a gun at someone was assault with a deadly weapon.
Maybe they upped the charge because the scuffle and subsequent disarming prevented the weapon from being used.???
Perhaps the DA said "Cop to attempted murder and we'll suspend the sentence."
