    Gunman, 5 Others Die
Police in Kentucky release security video of a workplace shooting that left six people, including the gunman, dead. Warning: Disturbing images.

Stunningly tragic. I don't know of many businesses that allow concealed carry on the job - not that anyone would have had time to react.

Geez - that's tragic and senseless. If the guy wants to kill himself, why not just do it. No need in taking others with him.

Ok, I don't get the first guy that got shot at. He went back to doing whatever he was doing after the first shot and didn't move again until after the guy got closer and shot at him again. What? Did he think it was a cap gun or something?

The shooter was very calm, seemed very surreal. Better work on that quick draw. Not much warning.

He was hit, stunned.......made him an easy mark for the shooter.

That's what I took out of it. This is just bad in every sort of way.

    +1 on that.

At least give yourself a fighting chance. Practice that draw. What I take away from these videos is that these cowards remain unchallenged and is just left to reek havoc on the unarmed.

The two people who ran out the door when he 1st started shooting, they were in a good position to take the guy out, if they were armed. His back was to them as he was shooting the other two.

Being the first one shot without warning would have been a tough one. Being cognizant of the surroundings may have helped a bit, especially after the initial shot.

Seeing or hearing the first shot on another victim could have given any other 'armed' worker the chance to level the playing field, and the BG would not have expected such activity in a seemingly Gun Free Zone.

    Stay armed...always have a plan...stay safe!

I don't think any level of awareness would have been enough to avoid being the 1st one shot. It was less than 2 seconds from the time he entered the room till he shot the first guy at the table. I could maybe draw and fire under 2 seconds, but being "cold" and to asses the the threat and then react in that time would be spectacular. Absolute best case is you would probably get hit at least once while drawing and firing, hopefully hitting him as well. Even if training couldn't prevent it, its still better to be as prepared as possible.

It is sad, and to not be able to go down fighting is the tragedy. Punk kid, didn't get enough attention. Just goes to show you, it's best to keep your SA up and mouth shut at work.
