Ugly - Hiker shot, killed, mistaken as Bear?
Juvenile hunter mistakes 54-yr old woman as a bear at 10:30 AM, so should be good light.. Popular hiking area, AND it's legal to hunt bear in the area? Sounds like a recipe for what happened. How do you NOT verify what you're shooting at? Sometimes when these things happen, you have to wonder if the person did it on purpose. I'd like to think it's an accident, however horrible, as the alternative is even worse.

The kid had an adult with him when he shot her apparently she was bent over getting something out of her back pack ,maybe a bear mask I have done a lot of hunting and in cases where somebody blatantly shot and killed another human being they should be tried for involuntary manslaughter,If your old enough to carry a gun your old enough to suffer the consequences of pulling the trigger, dad should be sitting next to him at defense table since he should of been "glassing" his target before he gave the clear to fire. This is just stupid
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
