    Robbery leaves woman hospitalized

This happened not far from where I live.

MANNING – Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect described as a light-skinned black man who shot and robbed the clerk of a dry cleaners and fled the scene just before noon today.

Manning Police Chief Randy Garrett said the shooter entered City Laundry & Cleaners on South Mill Street and demanded the money from the register.

The victim, Heather C. Bramer, gave him the money before he escorted her to a back room, made her get on the floor and shot her.

As of 1:30 p.m., Bramer was at Clarendon Memorial Hospital with a bullet lodged in the base of her skull. Officials were going to fly her out as soon as weather permitted for further treatment.

The shooter was seen wearing a white “do-rag” as he left the scene. He was driving a green Mitsubishi Gallant, officials said.

Shot her anyway after her giving in to demands. That's brazen, and going in with a thirst for blood. I've been praying to God for a long time to put me in the right place at the right time. I have faith, one of these days it will happen, and I'll be ready. My prayers for the victim tonight.

You know... if the don't have the stomach to face down, evil, I don't have a problem with that. I ain't gonna demand that they take up arms to defend themselves if they don't want to.

But by god, they should allow us the right to do what needs to be done when faced with such evil and not get their panties in a wad over it.

I'm not anti- , but why to they constantly want to prevent me from doing what I believe in? Why do they demand that we give up our guns to the criminals?

Well said. I had very similar thoughts about this.

I would pay money to see the look on some scumbags face at the moment he realises his victim just pulled a gun and he's about to taste some lead

So much for doing what they say and not resisting.
That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?

Was he worried that the clerk would ID him? I know there's a lot of dumb/sick people, but why do some feel the need to kill someone who has already complied? Or, getting to the root of the issue, why commit the crime at all? Is jail/death worth a couple hundred or thousand bucks?

I personally think they don't think about it. It's more of a "quick fix" sorta thing. And damn the consequences.

And yeah, stories like this make me wonder if I'd resist by default in a bad situation. If there's a good chance you're going to die, no matter how nice and compliant you are, whats to lose from fighting back?

That is happening all the time now.
Human life has been devalued to the point where even perps of minor crimes desire to leave no witnesses alive.

That is why I will never lay face down on the floor in compliance with any criminal scumbag demands.

100% submission and total compliance is no guarantee of personal safety anymore.

Those days are gone and in the past.

You can do EVERYTHING the bad guy wants and still end up wearing a toe tag in the morgue.

This can't be true - the authorities say that we will be safe if we just give the crooks the money.
