Former Police Chief charged in 36 y/o murder
The title says it all. On Monday a former police chief and marine was charged with the murder of a marine back in 1972. This happened in the same city I am in but 12 years before my time. The last couple of months, a reporter has been doing stories on unsolved homicides in the Sunday papers in hopes of somebody remembering something or coming forward with new information. It payed off this week when this POS was finally arrested and charged.
I know times were different back then, but how does somebody commit murder, be looked at as a suspect but have a lack of evidence against them, and then go into a career in law enforcement?
