I am certain the sickle was very sharp, farm people don't let their tools get dull. Foreign women are exotic to males in the U.S.; but one thing should be kept in mind for men here, they have different customs. Case in point, Lorena Bobbit. Payback can hurt or be deadly.

Does one serve time for a "culpable murder" committed in India? I hope that for this woman's sake that she does not have to go to jail.
I recall one of the "Die Hard" flicks where the aryan chick attack the federal reserve guard with a sickle. I flinched a bit with that one.
I have seen several sickle injuries. One guy had his sickle slip and cut blood vessels in his temple; lots of arterial bleed on that one.
the other one when I was a kid.. saw a fight between 2 guys with a butterfly knife vs. short, 14 inch sickle. lotsa' cuts on both sides but the dude that was cut in his neck and proximal arms with a sickle died on scene. You have to be pretty close to your target but the sickle's used by farmers are sharp, thin blades and once hook on tissue it only takes a small amount of slashing motion to cut some vital organs. shheesh!
in any case, the man deserved what he got. anybody got pics?
"embrace the suck" - our warriors in the sandbox... it implies that do the best you can in impossible conditions.

A related note: I broke a Scythe Blade next to the handle, I converted it into a Machete type blade. It hangs on a pole on my back porch unobtrusive and out of sight, but still in reach to my hand if I need it for self defence. Very wicked looking in my hand. Looks more dangerous then a Machete of the same length.
I think the lesson to be learned here is maybe we (in the states) should simply turn the perverts over to the victums (or their family) for a little "make my day", "did I fire five or six", "I'll be your huckaberry" justice.

HRRRMmm. Some folk call it a kaiser blade. I jes' call it a sling blade. Hrrrrmmmm.
Note to self...
Dont even think about messing with a woman that carries a sickle.
I would rather stand against the cannons of the wicked than against the prayers of the righteous.

Like custom guns and stuff? Check this out...
"and then paraded the head through a market in northern India, police said Friday."
That was her big mistake.
She "headed" in the wrong direction.
She should have dropped it in the woods and the Bengal Tigers could have swatted it around as a toy.
Silly me, I thought she was in Indiana.
Good on ya gal.
But if you are authorized to carry a weapon, and you walk outside without it, just take a deep breath, and say this to yourself...

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
Guys, I think I found her picture online.
That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?
