Good: US Air Force Staff Sergeant Shoots intruder!

Yet another reason not to mess with military whatever service they are in! We like our stuff and work hard to get it! If I happen to shoot you though, I may (or not) give you "Self Aid and Buddy Care!" It depends on how close to the center of mass I want to get and how much I want to be your buddy! Give that man a high five!

A second man has been charged with breaking into the apartment of a Pope Air Force Base staff sergeant Thursday.

Joseph Lee Odom, 25, of the 600 block of Riverfront Lane, was charged Friday with three counts each of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen property, according to Fayetteville police.

Odom and Christopher Pittman, 23, are accused of breaking into the home of Staff Sgt. Jared Johnson in the 400 block of Acacia Circle.

Johnson was home and heard noises in his apartment. He found the men stealing several items, police said. During a confrontation, he shot Pittman in the leg but performed first aid while calling the police.

Odom ran but was taken into custody later, police said.

A magistrate would not issue an arrest warrant Thursday, saying there was not enough evidence to charge Odom.

Friday’s charges were filed after police obtained more evidence, said Theresa Chance, a police spokeswoman.

Both men are accused of two additional break-ins reported Thursday at Century Oaks Apartments and at a home on Green Leaf Drive, Chance said.

Odom’s bail had not been set Friday afternoon, Chance said.

Pittman had surgery at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he remained Friday, Chance said.

Meanwhile, Johnson issued a statement through Pope Air Force Base late Friday expressing concern for Pitman and his family.

“I hope (Pittman) is OK, and I hope his family is OK,” Johnson said.

He has declined to comment further, the release said.

Socialism tries to give the slave all the advantages of his security together with the benefits of freedom, and, in the process, destroys both the free and the enslaved.
