Police Looking For Carjacker
Police Say Man Broke Into A Home
POSTED: 4:49 pm MDT October 26, 2008
UPDATED: 9:50 pm MDT October 26, 2008
DENVER -- Littleton police used dogs to search for a man Sunday afternoon, wanted in a home break-in and carjacking.
Police said it at all began about 1:30 p.m. when the man broke into a home near South Bowles Street and Sheridan Avenue. The homeowner confronted the intruder, who then showed a gun and demanded the homeowner's vehicle.
The intruder fled in the victim's vehicle to a neighborhood nearby and officers located the stolen vehicle using On-star, police said. The thief then carjacked another couple and took their vehicle.
The suspect is still at large.
He is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be driving a stolen 1999 black Jaguar sedan he stole from the couple.
Officers continued to look for the man Sunday evening.
On hiatus.
Hit my limit for speculation, the sky is falling, and gun owners fighting amongst themselves.

Another one to add to "Reason to carry at home" file.
I am starting to gather a collection of news clips to show to those who do not understand the need for 24/7 protection.
The first rule of a gunfight: "Don't be there !"
The second rule: "Bring enough gun"

And this is exactly why I tell my wife I appreciate she doesn't make fun of me for carrying my gun around the house to every room I go to.
We frequently go over the "plan" of what we will do if we encounter a situation like this. She is totally on board and knows we only have one chance to protect ourselves. The time we leave our guard down is the time we'll become victims.

I too, stay armed at home for just this reason. I leave a revolver in a drawer for my wife who is at home when I'm away. I do believe she would shoot to stop any threat...I have tried to convey to her, the 'no questions' approach to strangers entering our home.
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

I can just invite them to watch some local news for a while. Near DC is getting crazier.

And that is what is reported. I have been listening to the on-line scanners. All I have to say is 24/7 arming is a must.
