Police are looking for a man who forced his way into an Imperial woman’s home and attacked her Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Westward Trails.
Lt. Dave Marshak of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the man, who identified himself as "the cable guy" to gain access to the victim’s apartment, had tried to rape the woman, but stopped when he was attacked by the woman’s German shepherd.
Marshak said the suspect is a white male, approximately 6-feet tall, medium build, weighing about 180 to 210 pounds, with light-colored, "buzz" cut hair and some facial hair stubble. He was wearing a black and gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black and red gloves with dotted grips inside and a stocking cap.
The suspect could possibly have bite marks on his neck and shoulder, Marshak said.
Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (8477) or the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5521.
