In the original story, the Newspaper printed the name of one of the neighbors as well as the fact that she works nights and the time that she leaves her home. The editors of this paper are clueless as to public safety!
The following article is light on details, but the news tonight said the perp was caught about 30 miles east of Kansas City, which is roughly 3 hours west of where the shooting took place. He was pulled over for making an improper lane change and for following another car too closely. The news also said he was driving the same car that the police in U. City put out the APB on. Even my wife thought he was stupid for not getting a different car and going far, far away. Glad he didn't plan his escape very well.

The suspect in the shooting of University City police Sgt. Michael King frequently spoke of killing a police officer “and ending the unfair treatment of blacks and lower class people by the government,” according to documents filed today in federal court.
Todd L. Shepard, 41, has not been charged with the murder of King, but was charged Wednesday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis with being a felon in possession of a firearm. The only firearm mentioned in charging documents is a stolen .38-caliber revolver that was allegedly used in the killing.
King, 50, was in uniform and parked on Leland Avenue just off Delmar Boulevard when someone approached his marked patrol car and shot him four times at about 10:20 p.m. Friday.
Not the first time. I've related before about a friend LEO that got it this way, dude was gunning for another cop and got him by accident. SA rules.
