GOOD: Granny Stops Intruder With .38 - PA
Granny Shoots Intruder / News 4, Your News Leader, 4 Warn Desktop Alert, Dothan, Wiregrass, WTVY Marketplace
An investigation is underway in Pennsylvania after police say a 75-year-old granny shot a man who allegedly broke into her home.
The woman was sleeping upstairs, when an intoxicated man entered her home. She first asked him politely to leave, but when he proceeded up the stairs she grabbed her 38 caliber revolver and shot the man in the groin.
Turns out the man lives nearby and accidentally walked into the wrong house.
Police are investigating the case, but so far no charges have been filed.
Sparse on details, but go granny.

Looks like she is busy clinging to her guns and religion. Good for Granny. Bad for the intruder.

...and it sounds like the intruder was clinging to something else after the shot.

First, Granny should lock that front door. She's not in the best neighborhood.
Second, Here in Western PA we keep our old folks pretty cranky so don't push 'em. Just look at Jack Murtha...
Third, we don't have a castle doctrine as part of our state law. I still think any "reasonable person" could find implied intent, opportunity, and ability in the young fella not halting when confronted by the old gal. Nevertheless, she could find herself with an unsympathetic prosecutor.
Finally, I'd like to know if she was pushing the revolver in anticipating recoil, or just aiming at the virile youngster's other "center of mass".

I am not sure, but I think this is the same incident:
Cops: Pittsburgh woman shoots intruder | Wilkes-Barre News | The Times Leader
PITTSBURGH — Police say a 77-year-old woman shot an intoxicated art student who mistakenly entered her Pittsburgh home.
The shooting happened early Saturday in the city’s Hill District.
Police say the 19-year-old Art Institute of Pittsburgh student got into the woman’s home around 12:30 a.m. That set off an alarm.
The woman went and got a gun.
Police say she pointed it at him and told him to leave.
When the student didn’t leave, police say the woman shot him in the pelvis.
The student was treated at a hospital.
No charges have been filed in the incident.
Police did not say how the student got into the house.
If not, then there are two PA grannies looking to clean up the gene pool.
