NORFOLK
An employee at Lindenwood Elementary School was carjacked in the school parking lot Thursday evening, Norfolk police said Friday.
Two men were arrested.
The employee was walking to her car about 6:15 p.m. when two men demanded her purse and keys, a police press release said. They drove off in her vehicle.
Police saw the vehicle about an hour later and tried to stop it. Two men inside ran but were caught after a short chase, police said.
Jamal Logan, 19 and Vondrell Scarborough, 19, both of Norfolk were charged with carjacking, robbery, conspiracy and use or display of a firearm in commission of a felony.
The school is on Ludlow Street, off Tidewater Drive in Norfolk’s Lindenwood neighborhood.

Glad the police caught the perps on this one. I hope once the state is done with them, the fed will step in and level charges as well.

Actually...I think you give them too much credit. They saw a target...nothing more and nothing less. I would bet that when interrogated, gun free zone is not even in their thought process... more than likely they do not even know what it means.

Oh-oh...now these dirtbags will have to face the 'criminal injustice system'...they'll probably be made to stay 'after school'.
Hmmmmm...the school parking lot, another 'gun-free zone'...

It seems apparent that these thugs dropped out of school in the earlier grades before gun free zones were discussed. I am glad that the lady is alright. I was stationed in Norfolk when I was in the Navy back in the mid to late 1970's and always thought that it was a pretty nice town. I might have gotten that idea because my address was pier 12 NOB Norfolk VA.

I think you're on to something here..........
Why not make it illegal to be on any school grounds if you have NO business there?
-If you don't have any kids at the school......move on!
-If you already graduated.......move on!
-If you have NO reason to be there.......move on!

A prime example of how circumvention of the 2A (gun bans) disarm ONLY the law-abiding. Criminals don't give two shakes about the naive little laws that are placed in their way. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Yup. Those naive little laws are placed in the way of upstanding citizens only. Such laws make it easier for criminals via clearing a path, making a hole and dramatically reducing any response that upstanding citizens could otherwise present. Such silly laws end up doing one thing: they reduce the threat to criminals via disarming their victims in advance of crimes against them; they do not help or protect innocents in any way.
